Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading or using the Yuho app and/or visiting yuho.io, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Yuho does

Yuho is a voice diary application for iPhone. It lets you record, organise, and optionally enrich entries (for example with location or transcripts, depending on the version you use). yuho.io provides marketing pages and, when you choose to share from the app, time-limited or revocable public pages that play a recording you uploaded.

3. Your account & device

  • You are responsible for keeping your device secure (passcode, Face ID, etc.).
  • App Store purchases, subscriptions, or refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
  • API keys, share tokens, or device identifiers used for web sharing must not be shared with untrusted parties.

4. Acceptable use

Use Yuho and yuho.io for lawful, legitimate purposes. Do not:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm others
  • Upload or share unlawful content, malware, or spam
  • Attempt to break, overload, or circumvent security or rate limits
  • Scrape or bulk-collect share pages in a way that harms the service or other users
  • Reverse engineer the app or service except where local law expressly permits

We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

5. Your content

  • You retain ownership of your recordings and notes.
  • You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display content solely to provide the features you use (including web shares you create).
  • You are responsible for what you record and what you choose to share. Do not share others’ personal information without permission where required by law.

6. Web sharing

  • Share links include a secret token; anyone with the link may access the shared page until you revoke it or it expires.
  • We may enforce storage limits, expiry options, and rate limits.
  • Revoking a share removes future access; cached copies outside our systems may still exist (for example in someone’s browser or messenger).

7. Third-party services

The app and site may rely on third parties (for example Apple, Cloudflare, map tile providers, analytics). Their services have separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Yuho and yuho.io reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and web shares depend on network availability.

9. No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yuho and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or yuho.io.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the six months before the claim or (b) fifty US dollars (USD $50), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Termination

  • You may stop using Yuho at any time and delete recordings on your device.
  • You may revoke individual web shares from the app.
  • We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service, where permitted by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example in the app). Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where allowed by law.
